My Trip to Washington D.C.
November 9 - 12, 2018
This was a school sponsored trip.
More than 100 students went on this trip.
We all left from Cumberland, R.I. in three coaches chaperoned by several teachers.
I am in the 7th Grade.
This was one of my favorite trips.
During these four days we stayed at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Laurel, Maryland.
During our stay in Washington we saw many beautiful monuments.
I loved being inside the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials. Very impressive.
Later on, we went by the Washington Monument, the White House, the U.S. Capitol and many other places.
We also visited the Arlington Cemetery and several Museums, such as, the Holocaust Museum,
the Newseum and the National Air and Space Museum.
One of my favorite sites was the Lincoln Memorial. It was amazing to see the statue of President Lincoln facing
the breathtaking view of the Washington Monument.
Washington is an amazing city.
Later on, at home, it made me very happy when I would see on TV many of these places I had seen during my trip,
like the Pentagon, the Supreme Court, the Capitol, the White House, etc.
Overall, our trip to Washington was a breathtaking adventure into American History.
I would certainly love to relive once again this outstanding experience.
